Facility Security Officer Training (FSO)
This facility security officer certification course provides knowledge to those who may be designated to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Facility Security Officer (FSO), in particular, the duties and responsibilities with respect to the security of a facility. This certified FSO training course meets the training requirements as defined by 33CFR 105.205 and Part B18.1 of the ISPS Code.

Those who successfully complete this course will have demonstrated knowledge,
understanding, and proficiency in the following competences:
1. Regularly inspecting the facility to ensure that security measures are implemented and maintained;
2. Ensuring the development, maintenance and supervision of the implementation of the security plan, and any amendments to the security plan;
3. Ensuring the coordination and handling of cargo and vessel stores and bunkers:
4. Proposing/implementing modifications to the security plan
5. Ensuring that any problems identified during audits or inspections are reported, and promptly implement any corrective actions;
6. Ensuring security awareness and vigilance on board the vessel and at the facility;
7. Ensuring adequate security training for facility personnel;
8. Ensuring the reporting and recording of all security incidents;
9. Ensuring the coordinated implementation of the Facility Security Plan with the Vessel Security Officer, when applicable;
10. Ensuring security equipment is properly operated, tested, calibrated, and maintained;
11. Ensuring consistency between security requirements and the proper treatment of vessel personnel affected by those requirements;
12. Asses security risk, threat and vulnerability;
13. Encourage Security awareness and vigilance;
14. Ensuring TWIC programs are in place and implemented appropriately
